Learn step by step how to connect LexGraph with ChatGPT and use legal research directly in your existing workflow.
- Step 1: Open LexGraph at lexgraph.de and click “Profile” in the top-right corner.
- Step 2: Scroll down to “MCP Connection”, then copy the “MCP URL”.
- Step 3: Open ChatGPT and click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner.
- Step 4: Open “Settings” in the left sidebar.
- Step 5: Open “Security and Sign-in”.
- Step 6: Scroll down to Developer mode and enable it.
- Step 7: This is what it looks like when it is enabled.
- Step 8: Close Settings and click “Plugins” in the top-left corner.
- Step 9: Click the plus icon to add a new plugin.
- Step 10: Configure the MCP server.
- Step 11: Paste the link you copied under “Connection”.
- Step 12: Give the plugin a name. We use LexGraph.
- Step 13: Accept the terms of use.
- Step 14: Optionally, add an icon and description. You can download our icon here.
- Step 15: Click “Sign in with LexGraph”.
- Step 16: Click “Connect LexGraph”.
- Step 17: You will then be redirected to this page. Occasionally, OpenAI incorrectly displays an error message here. You can still use the MCP server in the chat.
- Step 18: Open a new chat and type @LexGraph to use the plugin.
Done – LexGraph is connected
You can now use LexGraph directly in your AI product.
